Own a unique piece of contemporary botanical art with this original watercolour study of the Magenta Columbine (Aquilegia).
Hand-painted in Dan’s Wiltshire studio, this original work celebrates the intricate form and nostalgic charm of classic cottage garden flora. Every petal and leaf was brought to life using Dan’s own hand-mulled artisan watercolour paints, crafted from pure raw pigments to deliver extraordinary lightfastness, depth, and vibrant colour luminosity that commercial paints simply cannot replicate.
The composition highlights the distinctive nodding blossoms, rich magenta petals, soft yellow centers, and delicately scalloped foliage of the Columbine flower. As a one-of-a-kind original piece, it carries the direct touch, texture, and organic energy of the artist’s hand.
